The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is a government non-profit with the mission to manage, conserve and protect Illinois' natural, recreational and cultural resources, further the public's understanding and appreciation of those resources, and promote the education, science and public safety of Illinois' natural resources for present and future generations.
This rebrand is a complete overhaul of the current IDNR brand identity. The logo was designed following the same nature scene concept as the current logo, but modernizing it with a thin line weight and minimal illustrations.
A set of icons matches the logo, and can be integrated with the logo for use on other brand materials.
Univers type was used because of its large type family, and it’s professional aesthetic provides the perfect look for a government department.
The brand color, summer green, helps to further link the overall brand back to nature.
